The Skunk:
Skunks are most well-known for their anal scent glands, which are commonly used as a defense mechanism from predators. These glands produce a mixture of sulfur-containing chemicals, which have a very disgusting-smelling odor. If your pet runs into a skunk and makes it feel threatened, it can spray with a high degree of accuracy up to 10 feet. Beyond the smell, the compounds can also cause irritation to your pet’s skin and even temporary blindness. And, as we all know, the skunk’s smell is so potent, that humans can notice it from miles away. Unfortunately for us, skunks are quite common in suburban areas, so when your dog has a close encounter, it can leave you with a smelly mess on your hands. That’s where De-Skunk comes in handy. It’s best to always keep one De-Skunk at home, just in case of an emergency.
*Note: If your pet has been in wooded areas, you should carefully check for ticks. Many ticks carry dangerous diseases that can harm both you and your pet and should be removed promptly. If it appears your pet was bit by the skunk, visit your veterinarian immediately to check for rabies.
Use De-Skunk promptly after being sprayed. Shake well. Wet pet thoroughly. Apply De-Skunk generously and massage well to assure complete saturation through coat to skin. Allow De-Skunk to remain on pet for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse well. Repeat application, if needed.
Purified Water, Polysorbate 20, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Fragrance, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Preservative, Tetrasodium EDTA, Color.
